STOCK CARDS (The 3 that came with the HSS Strat)
These are the cards that came with each HSS version of the strat. They sometimes show up individual or as a set. Every great once in a while someone converts their plus to a regular guitar and sells these, but most often they like one and sell one or more of the other ones. The Standard is the normal config. Cutter has a treble/bass cut design. somewhat useful. The splitter splits the humbucker , however what I don’t like is that this isn’t a push pull, so to go back to standard you have to switch cards, not the best one.
- Cutter – Changes the 1st and 2nd tone controls to a treble cut and bass cut.
- Standard – Traditional HSS wiring configuration that delivers plenty of beefy humbucking power at the bridge.
- Splitter – Splits the humbucker to a single coil
NON STOCK CARDS (3 were available separately)
Fender stopped at making 3 extra cards on the HSS model. Wish they would have made more.
- Fader – It converts the first tone control knob (the one nearest the pickup switch) into a master tone control and the second tone control into a fader that gradually attenuates the sound of the top coil of the humbucking bridge pickup. (INTERESTING…)
- Phaser – This also exists for the SSS version – Reverse the phase of the neck or middle pickup, good for aftermarket pickup situations. It gets very thin in position 2 and 4. Not bad, Interesting variation.
- Dipper – This also exists for the SSS version – Lets the player program position 3 to anything they want! This is a fun one to play with.
