Who Is Stratocaster Design and Bruce Baker Gombrelli

Bruce Baker Gombrelli is and fully degreed Electrical Engineer with a minor in Physics and long time composer/producer. He also has technical degrees in Microprocessors and a Bachelors in Software.

His music experience started by learning guitar at the age of 8 and expanding quickly into other instruments. His first “purchased” guitar was….wait for it….A FENDER STRATOCASTER! And yes, he is by definition an official Stratocaster and Gear Junkie. Find out more about him here

Stratocaster Design is a company that has a larger scope then the focus of Stratocasters. It promotes detailed information about Stratocasters and Stratocaster components. It also deals with other Fender models.

Do you custom design Stratocaster to Spec?

Yes! However, we purchase bodies and necks, we do not paint in house or build necks to spec. We DO wire exactly to spec however. We do completely assemble and properly setup any Stratocaster.

Use Mine or Build for me?

You send us your pickguard, Bruce will Hand Wire it and ship it back to you. You only pay for the shipping and the shop cost of the wiring (and any extra parts required).
We build a COMPLETE loaded pickguard custom designed to your specifications.
We build a COMPLETE loaded pickguard custom designed for you from parts in stock and/or your parts – This CAN be a cost effective option because we often try to get used pickups at decent prices and stock them if possible. We are a small shop and don’t get price breaks on new parts especially from Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio and Fender..

The Turn Around Time

Your Pickguard: Once we receive it and it gets into the queue, it takes 2 to 5 days to do the build, depending on the backlog. Shipping takes about 3-5 days each way.
Specified from parts in stock – Almost the same as if it’s yours except it doesn’t require you to ship to us. Builds are 2-4 days
Brand new parts not in stock – from 1 week to 4 weeks depending on the parts.

Can you upgrade the wiring on my favorite pickguard with my pickups?

Yes !!

Rewiring a Stratocaster pickguard requires it to be sent to us, modified and returned so there is “in transit” time as well as the processing time. Expect roughly 2-3 weeks total or less including shipping but we like to under promise and over deliver..

Does Bruce do other Pickguards?

Yes. However, he specializes in Fender Stratocasters (Squier to American). Telecasters, Jazz Masters are sometimes done but other models always require lead time to purchase parts because we don’t stock non Stratocaster parts so there is usually a lead time for parts not in stock (like Tele Pickguards,etc). HOWEVER, if it’s just a rewire job, then the turn around time for your pickguard would apply.

Below are just a FEW example of what can be made. ANY color pickguard can be used, any pickups and any wiring combination. We can go anywhere from upgrade Squier pickguards to top of the line Custom Shop Pickup setups. Also from simple rewires to very complicated multiple switch systems.
