for Fender Stratocasters
** Historical Document – This circuit is no longer in production **
Stratocaster Design has a specialized tone circuit that Bruce Gombrelli designed about 5 years ago called MixFlexTone Circuit
It’s a very flexible and useful circuit for many types of Stratocaster applications, and it’s all done without changing the look of a standard strat.
You can use a wide variety of pickups with the circuit but the basic requirements is this:
A humbucker that has distinct coils (like a lace sensor dually) and 2 single coils of any kinds in the middle and neck. Of course, there are some recommended models.
The HSS circuit features the following:
- Full Humbucker arrangement on the bridge
- Split humbucker, works great with a Lace Dually or any other optional Humbucker that has 2 distinct coils.
- A switchable Middle pickup configuration and can be blended with any pickup or completely independent by itself in the 2nd position.
- The middle pickup has it’s own volume control which doubles as a blend control
- The 2nd volume control (1st standard strat tone) is a push-pull switch with operates the middle pickup.
- The tone control can be completely by passed.
- Sounds, go from full humbucker to ultra spanky.
The SSS version features the following (MixFlex Single Tone)
- 3 single coil pickup arrangement with standard 5 position switch
- A switchable Middle pickup configuration and can be blended with any pickup or completely independent by itself in the 2nd position.
- The middle pickup has it’s own volume control which doubles as a blend control
- The 2nd volume control (1st standard strat tone) is a push-pull switch with operates the middle pickup.
- The tone control can be completely by passed
